Welland Fire Station No. 3

Welland, Ontario

The new Welland Fire Station No. 3 is a state-of-the-art emergency services facility designed to enhance firefighter safety, operational efficiency, and long-term resilience for the City of Welland. Delivered through a design-build partnership with Niacon Construction, the project replaces aging infrastructure with a modern, purpose-built station that responds to the City’s growing service demands and evolving safety standards.

Strategically located on Prince Charles Drive, the station improves emergency response times while serving as a highly visible civic asset within the community. The building is thoughtfully organized to support rapid deployment, clear operational flow, and the separation of clean and contaminated zones, a critical design consideration for firefighter health and safety.

The program includes spacious apparatus bays, dedicated gear decontamination and storage areas, administrative and training spaces, and well-designed living and wellness areas that support both day-to-day operations and long-duration emergency response. Durable materials, efficient building systems, and a robust envelope were selected to ensure longevity, ease of maintenance, and sustainable performance.

Welland Fire Station No. 3 reflects the City’s commitment to investing in modern public infrastructure that supports first responders while strengthening community safety. The project stands as a forward-looking civic facility designed to serve Welland for decades to come.
